City To Conduct Special Meeting Tomorrow To Discuss Bridge/CSX Issues

September 17th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

The Cumberland Mayor and City Council will conduct a special meeting Tuesday evening beginning at 6:15 dedicated to discussing the West Side bridge/CSX issues. The meeting, which will include an engineering presentation, will be held in the cafeteria of Bishop Walsh School in order to accommodate what is expected to be a large crowd.  Access in the West Side part of town has become a major issue in the past few years as all three CSX bridges are now closed due to being in various states of disrepair and having been deemed unsafe. The city has been engaged in negotiations with CSX during the summer and Mayor Brian Grim said he is encouraged that the two sides are close to an agreement- but nothing has been finalized to date. Tuesday’s meeting provides an opportunity for citizens to get an update on the situation…

Tuesday's meeting will be broadcast live on the WCBC Radio Facebook page in cooperation with Allegany Media. WCBC will rebroadcast the meeting on Thursday evening at 7 PM on 1270 AM and 103.1 FM.
