On Saturday morning just after midnight, Cumberland Police officers were dispatched to a Wills Creek Avenue residence for domestic assault. Upon arrival officers made contact with the male victim outside the residence. Officers observed visible signs of injuries to the male victim. Officers then made contact Melissa Raye Cook inside the residence. Officers conducted an investigation into the assault that took place prior to their arrival. Cook was then taken into custody without incident. She was transported for processing and later taken to District Court for a bond hearing. At the conclusion of the hearing Cook was released pending trial in District Court.
