City Woman Jailed For Attempted Murder

On January 27th, 2017 at approximately 6:15 PM. Deputies of the Allegany County Sheriff's Office responded to Western Maryland Health System ER for a possible stabbing victim.

Deputies arrived and learned that 19 year old Djauhn Brooks had been transported to the ER by a private vehicle from the Bowling Green area due to a suspicious, potentially life-threatening injury.

Pursuant to the investigation deputies arrested 19 year old Zhania Alexes Height of Cumberland. The investigation revealed that Height and Brooks had gotten into an argument at Brook's apartment in the Bowling Green (Rt. 220 Cumberland) area. During the argument Height admittedly obtained a kitchen knife and stabbed Brooks.

Height was charged with the following:
Attempted 2nd Degree Murder
1st Degree Assault
2nd Degree Assault
Reckless Endangerment 
Deadly Weapon Intent to Injure

After an initial appearance before a District Court Commissioner, Height was ordered held without bond at the Allegany County Detention Center.
