The Cumberland Mayor and City Council this week continued to work toward the demolition of the former Memorial Hospital facilities. The council approved an order accepting a proposal from the EADS Group for professional services associated with the demolition of buildings on the Memorial Hospital Campus in an amount not to exceed $175,000. City Administrator Jeff Rhodes said that the city has a prior relationship with the group and there is a familiarity with the process that provides a level of comfort moving forward with the plan.
