Sunday morning at 1:18 AM, Cumberland Police responded to a residence in the 500 block of Columbia Avenue in reference to an assault in progress.
Upon arrival several people told police they heard a male yelling at a female inside the residence and the woman was screaming. Police were able to make contact with a female subject inside the residence as well as Carrington Christian Schmoyer.
Investigation determined Schmoyer and the female had been in an argument. The argument escalated and Schmoyer grabbed the female by the face, causing minor injuries. Schmoyer was placed under arrest and taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held on $2500 bond pending his next court appearance.
The female victim did not require medical treatment.
