Comments In Letter Leave Gov. Hogan Irritated

Maryland State Senator Richard Madaleno’s letter to Governor Hogan, calling on him to to enact a ban on travel to Indiana with Maryland tax dollars, did not have the desired effect he was looking for. In that letter to Governor Hogan he says – "Your family could be denied service due to a random business person, waiter or clerk's objection to the First Lady's previous divorce." He says the ban would protect Maryland officials from potential public humiliation and embarrassment of denial of service. After Wednesday's Board of Public Works meeting, Governor Larry Hogan talked to reporters and admitted that the senator’s decision to comment on the First Lady in the letter left him more irritated than anything else at this point….





Responding to Hogan's comments, Madaleno said he hopes this brings some awareness to the governor on how these types of laws can potentially lead to wide spread discrimination…
