During this month’s Maryland Association of Counties Summer Conference, Allegany County Commissioner Bill Valentine had the opportunity to speak with Lt Governor Boyd Rutherford about the growing opioid crisis- and he presented some ideas. Rutherford heads up the state’s Task Force and Heroin and Opioid Abuse. Valentine said while a great deal of time and resources have been spent on helping the addict in recovery- perhaps some funding should go toward covering the rising insurance costs for fire and EMS companies who transport overdose victims…
