Although the changes in routes began last September, the Allegany County Commissioners formally adopted a five year transit plan during their regular business meeting. The plan was somewhat controversial when first presented and a number of meetings and hearings were held with the system’s drivers and riders which drew strong turnouts. A spokesman for KFH Group of Bethesda- which developed the plans praised the Commissioners for tweaking the original proposals after the public input and decided to increase Alltrans fares $1 to $3 rather than $2 to $4 as originally recommended…
