Allegany County Commissioner Bill Valentine’s insistence that the state provide a written contract outlining a payback schedule for funding fronted by the county for the new Allegany High School project threatens to delay the project. Allegany County School Superintendent Dr. David Cox said it might be a good idea for the commissioner to discuss his concerns with the school board members. Despite assurances from IAC executive director David Lever that Allegany County would be repaid, he added that a written agreement won’t be part of the deal. Valentine tells WCBC News that he is aware of other similar situations in other parts of the state where the school board was re-imbursed the money that the county fronted. Cox says a meeting between the school board and the commissioners might help clear up the matter…
