The President of the Allegany County Education Association blasted the Allegany County Commissioners for failing to fully fund the school board’s budget request. The school board’s proposed $112.1 million budget for fiscal 2017 included a $1.8 million increase for operating expenses. The commissioners approved a budget that was $330,000 above last year’s- but well short of the increase requested by the board.
