Commissioners Commit Addition $4 Million in Funds to New Allegany

The Allegany County Commissioners voted 2-1 Thursday night to send a letter of support to the state for the new Allegany High School project- committing an additional four million dollars in local funds. While no concrete numbers will be known til after the project is re-bid at the start of next year, the best guess estimates at this time is that school will be somewhere in the $50 to $54 million range. The county’s additional dollars still leaves a gap of anywhere between $3 and $4 million dollars. Commissioners Bill Valentine and Jake Shade signed off on the letter with Shade saying that the county is not prepared to let this project die…
