Allegany County county finance director Jason Bennett told the county commissioners Thursday that there could be as much as a $1.2 million savings by refinancing some of its debt. The commissioners introduced code home rule bills to issue the bonds for sale at the regular business meeting. Bennett said that the exact amount of the savings is dependent upon interest rates when the bonds are actually put on sale- which he anticipates being sometime in March.
