The Allegany County Commissioners this week presented Richard House, President of The Holding Hands for Haley Foundation, with a citation to honor the organization's work. Shortly after Richard and his wife Jennifer House lost their 10-year-old daughter, Haley, to brain cancer in 2014, the couple decided to start a non-profit and support those still fighting. Since 2015, the organization has donated $86,000 to childhood cancer research and helped 10 local families with children still battling the disease.
