Commissioners Introduce Bill To Establish Zoning & Startup Regulations For Farm Alcohol Producers

During the final Allegany County Commissioners meeting of the year-  the process to create new guidelines for those desiring to start up beer and wine production facilities in the area began with the commissioners introducing a code home rule bill to establish zoning and startup regulations for farm alcohol producers.  County Administrator Brandon Butler said this is something the county has been discussing for some time with the goal being to create a streamlined system. He said when the county was approached recently by a potential brewer seeking information on the process- there was nothing on the books. This action will address that.
