Commissioners To Discuss Possible Personnel Reductions

April 19th, 2012 by WCBC Radio

It’s been a difficult week for many Allegany County employees- after learning last Thursday that its likely jobs will be lost during the current budget process. County Administrator David Eberly told the Commissioners a week ago that he doesn’t think the county will be able to avoid eliminating jobs as they begin the painful process of balancing a budget for fiscal year 2013. Finance director Jason Bennett said that in addition, the state’s budget means a loss of around $730,000 for Allegany County because of a 10 percent cut to the disparity grant. Today the commissioners will meet in a closed session to discuss possible personnel reductions- and that will be followed by a public budget work shop where Bennett says he and Eberly will present several fiscal options for the commissioners consideration…
