Common Core Moves Forward

December 6th, 2014 by WCBC Radio

The first operational round of Common Core-aligned testing in Maryland is underway.  Thousands of high school students across the state  are scheduled to take the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC), an assessment system designed to measure the content and skills found in Common Core State Standards. In this year’s fall block testing windows, high school students will be quizzed on English 10 and Algebra.  Because PARCC is still new, scoring benchmarks have not yet been established, and local officials are anticipating an adjustment period for test takers.
