Community Debate Continues On Frederick St. Bike Lane

Although the Cumberland Mayor and City Council last week, by a 3-2 vote, rejected developing a bike lane on Frederick Street- that doesn’t necessarily mean the issue is dead. The council, after more than a year of discussion and public meetings, voted against a bike lane, favoring instead a compromise plan to add “Share the Road” signage and painted arrows along the street. Since the vote, the community debate has continued. Mayor Brian Grim tells WCBC News that the vote against the Frederick Street bike lane, should not be interpreted as the council being anti biking…
