March 18th, 2017 by WCBC Radio

Comptroller Peter Franchot will unveil the state’s biggest tax scofflaws Monday at a press conference in Baltimore. These tax evaders will be listed in the agency’s “Caught in the Web” program, which names the top 25 individuals and 25 businesses that owe $15.7 million in unpaid taxes, penalties and interest to the state of Maryland. The “Caught in the Web” program displays the names of these scofflaws on the Comptroller of Maryland website for six months, until payment has been received, or until a payment plan is set up.
