With construction underway on a new Hampton Inn along Interstate 68 at the Willowbrook Road exit on Cumberland’s East Side- speculation can now begin on what other commercial or residential developments could become part of that area. The hotel will be located near the intersection of Shades Lane and Baltimore Avenue near Western Maryland Dermatology. Shawn Hershberger, executive director of the Cumberland Economic Development Corporation, that the hotel project getting under construction is a great sign of the momentum in the city- and in particular the Willowbrook Road corridor.
