Investigation of suspicious subjects in the area of CSX railroad tracks near Fort Cumberland Homes housing complex led to the discovery of a large amount of copper wire that was apparently stolen from an unknown location, Cumberland Police said.
Police are seeking to identify the victim of the suspected theft. No suspects were located when police investigated the complaint.
Officers were called to the area by a citizen who reportedly observed two people in the area of the tracks acting in a suspicious manner.
The suspects left before the witness walked to the area and found the copper wire covered beneath a tarp.
