Last week, WCBC News reported that Dr. David Cox had decided to request three waiver days from State Superintendent Dr Lillian Lowery for days missed due to inclement weather this academic year.
The story was based on an involved discussion held at a recent school board meeting involving calendar options for the current and future years, including a proposal to start school after Labor Day.
Although waiver days for the current year were discussed, a formal request and board approval did not take place at that meeting. Officials say there will be a discussion and possible action at the next board meeting.
