Correctional officers in Baltimore are scheduled to walk out on the job, because a new payroll system has disrupted their paychecks. The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees said the walk out is a response to five consecutive pay periods in which workers were not paid or were underpaid. The union says the Maryland Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services has been negligent. The walk out is scheduled to happen at the Central Booking and Intake Center in Baltimore Wednesday afternoon. A source with WCI in Cresaptown said the payroll problems have impacted employees statewide.
