Corrections Bill Advances

March 24th, 2016 by WCBC Radio

The Maryland Senate voted unanimously today to forward a measure to the House that would save money on correctional services and creating a new drug treatment pathway.

One would be hard pressed to find a lawmaker that is happy with the entire bill, but the vote shows there is a desire to change the current situation.

WCBC reported that overall savings dropped dramatically after the bill was changed a few days ago, but supporters say there is still time to make further adjustments while the House considers the measure.
