The Allegany County Commissioners today will receive a proposed balanced budget for FY 2014-2015 when they hear recommendations from Finance Director Jason Bennett and County Administrator David Eberly. Last week during a budget work session, the commissioners were informed that the county is facing an estimated $858,711 drop in income tax collections for fiscal year 2015. That leaves the county about $1.6 million short in matching the requests for new funding. Despite those numbers, both Bennett and Eberly expressed confidence a balanced budget can be put together that won’t prove devastating for any departments, agencies or the taxpayers…
