As the Allegany County Finance Department begins the process of formulating the FY 2017 budget- the plan is to do so with no need to dip into the county’s reserve, or rainy day fund. Finance Director Jason Bennett told the County Commissioners that as a result of tight financial times recently, the county has been forced to tap its reserve fund on more than one occasion. He said it’s important to keep that fund balance at an acceptable level.
