County Holds to Original $9 Million Allegany Pledge

February 20th, 2014 by WCBC Radio

Although it was revealed this week that the plans for the proposed new Allegany High School will exceed the original projections by more than six million dollars, it appears unlikely the school board will be able to approach the county commissioners to make up the difference. County Commissioners President Mike Mckay tells WCBC News that the county and the board discussed funding scenarios for the new school for most of last year before the county made a final, firm commitment of more than nine million dollars toward the project. Mckay says the county won’t exceed that original pledge.
