The Allegany County Commissioners have introduced a code home rule bill that will make several amendments for the LaVale Sanitary Commission. Earlier this year, Judson Collins, commission member, met with the commissioners to discuss the draft update that would “bring the code up to date and better enable the Commission to function in today’s business and operating environment.” Collins said current code was written in 1947 and “updated” about eight years later. Commissioners President Mike McKay noted that the code has been virtually untouched for the past 55 years.
