County Moving Forward With 911 Center Renovation

Allegany County is continuing to move forward in an effort to renovate the communication systems at its 911 center. Last week the commissioners introduced a $9 million bond bill authorization- with $5 million of that targeted for new EMS radios that puts the county on a 700-megahertz system.  The Allegany County 911 Joint Communications Division is part of the county's department of emergency services and some of the equipment and systems dates back several decades.  County Commissioners President Jake Shade said that while the five million price tag is steep for the county- the new radios will literally help save lives…
