County Officials Looking At $2.2 Million Budget Shortfall

As the Allegany County Commissioners move forward in putting together the FY 2018 budget- county officials are looking at a shortfall of approximately $2.2 million.  At the first public budget session in January, Finance Director Jason Bennett projected a deficit of about $1.5 million. However as a result of declining tax revenues- that number has jumped by $700,000. He says property tax numbers are off from last year…
