Just a few weeks after finalizing a new contract with emergency dispatchers, the Allegany County commissioners have ratified an agreement with county roads employees that provides a 3 percent raise for each of the next three years. There are 53 union members in the roads department. Brian Westfall, director of human resources for the county said that road workers and dispatchers are represented by the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. AFSCME represents employees in several county departments. Westfall said working with AFSCME on the new contracts and been a cooperative effort with little or no major sticking points…
