The Allegany County Opportunity Scholarship program, created by the Allegany County commissioners to lift more residents into higher education and workforce development, is having great impact. Allegany College of Maryland has served hundreds of individuals through the program since it was launched in fall 2014. Officials with Allegany College of Maryland provided the County Commissioners with the 2019 numbers demonstrating continued success.
