County sets timetable for construction of new Berkeley Springs Instruments facility

The Allegany County Commissioners have paved the way for a Cumberland technologies company to locates its operations in Frostburg. A $3.5 million bid from Lashley Construction to build a technology facility in the Frostburg Industrial Park was approved by county officials at the regular public meeting.  Berkeley Springs Instruments is currently located at Uhl Highway. The company makes scientific sensors which monitor the integrity of pipelines and industrial tanks in real time. At a meeting earlier this year, Gene Silverman, founder and president of BSI, said that the move to a larger facility would allow his company to expand from its current 20 to 25 employees upward to 50.
