County To Hold First Regulatory Reform Meeting

The first meeting of the Allegany County Regulatory Reform Commission will be held on Monday, August 13, 2018 at the Allegany County Complex located at 701 Kelly Road, Cumberland, Maryland. 

This first-of-its kind commission was established by the Allegany County Commissioners to examine impediments to growth in Allegany County. The Commission’s purpose is to focus on how Allegany County Government can streamline processes and protocols relating to permitting, land development, and planning. The Commission will conduct its work over the next six months and will report back to the Commissioners in December.

The Commission’s members are as follows:  

Matt Brewer (co-chair) serving as a Professional Designer with project management experience;         

Jeremy Irons (co-chair) serving as a Business Representative;

Donny Carter serving as a Commercial Realtor;                                                    

Larry Wolfe serving as a Representative of a Union or Trades Organization;        

Steve Langan serving as a Representative of the Home Builders Association of Western Maryland;

Steve Jenkins serving as a member of the Public at Large; and

Danny Malamis serving as a member of the Public at Large.
