After a lengthy investigation, the May Term of the Mineral County Grand Jury has issued indictments in connection with missing funds from the Ridgeley Volunteer Fire Department.
Cheryl Shipley, the former treasurer of the department, was indicted on four felony counts of embezzling more than $300,000 over a five year period beginning in 2005, along with four counts of conspiracy. Shipley's husband Robert, the former president of the department, was indicted on a charge of conspiracy.
