Cox’s Future At School Board To Be Determined On Valentines Day

Ironically the Allegany County Board of Education and Superintendent David Cox have chosen Valentine’s Day to decide whether or not to continue their relationship. The superintendent’s contract expires in June, and the board and Cox are required to notify each other of their intentions. Two board members, Lorelee Farrell and Wayne Foote are already on record as saying they are in favor or new leadership. Farrell is also in the middle of a lawsuit filed against the school board, with the suit naming Cox. It has been decided that the board’s February meeting will be the time and place for Cox to announce whether he desires to stay- and the board will vote to determine whether or not to begin contract negotiations or to move on and begin search for his replacement.
