The Cumberland Police Dept would like to make citizens aware of a scam circulating around the Cumberland area. Several residents have been made aware that they won a large cash prize through Publishers Clearing House. In the correspondence they are requesting the winners send money to them through Western Union and are collecting personal information including bank account numbers and social security numbers. Please be cautious of handing out personal information and sending money to an unknown source. Anyone receiving this type of activity can contact the Cumberland Police Dept at 301-777-1600.
