CPD Makes Domestic Assault Arrest

On February 24, 2016 officers from the Cumberland City Police Department responded to 815 Maryland Avenue, Apartment #2 in reference to a domestic assault.  Upon the officers arrival contact was made with the female victim, who stated that she was assaulted by John Christopher Larrick.  According to the victim, the two became involved in an argument, and during this argument, Mr. Larrick pushed her to the ground and held her there.  Once on the ground, the victim attempted to fight off Mr. Larrick, but was only able to rip his shirt.  While officers were speaking with the victim they observed a small cut and abrasion to her left hand and right ankle.  As a result of this investigation, Mr. Larrick was placed under arrest at the scene and transported to the Cumberland City Police Department for processing.  Mr. Larrick was transported to the District Court Commissioners Office for his initial appearance.   Mr. Larrick was held in the Allegany County Detention Center on $7,500 bond.

Charge: 2nd Degree Assault
