CPD Makes Assault/Burglary Warrant Arrests

On Tuesday, May 9, 2017, the Cumberland Police Department served arrest warrants on Frank MacDonald and Todd Grimes.  The warrants stemmed from an incident that occurred on May 8, 2017.  Officers had responded to an Arch Street residence in reference to a disturbance.  Upon the officers’ arrival, they separated the people who were arguing.  They contacted the resident who reported that Frank MacDonald had assaulted her son.  It was also reported that Grimes had forced his way into the residence and assaulted her son and then her.  Charges were filed against MacDonald and Grimes at the Allegany County District Court by the Cumberland Police Department.  As a result, arrest warrants were issued.  MacDonald and Grimes were served with the warrants.  They were taken before the District Court Commissioner for their bond hearings.  MacDonald was remanded to the Allegany Detention Center on a $20,000 bond.  Grimes was remanded to the Allegany Detention Center on a $15,000 bond.
