CPD Makes CDS And Disturbance Arrests

On Wednesday, April 3rd, 2019 a Cumberland Police Officer on patrol in the area of Maryland Avenue observed a motor vehicle being operated and the front seat passenger that was not restrained by a seat belt.  The officer stopped the vehicle and contacted the occupants.  While the officer was speaking with the driver and passenger, information was obtained that lead him to believe there was CDS in the vehicle.  A search was conducted and a quantity of crack cocaine and paraphernalia were sized.  Passenger; Ralph Edward Bandy was arrested and charged with possession of CDS and CDS paraphernalia.  He was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was released on his own personal recognizance pending trial.  The driver was cited and released for operating a vehicle without a license.

Disturbance/Fail to Obey Arrest

On Wednesday, April 3rd, 2019 the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of the Union Rescue Mission for a disturbance.  When officers arrived, they spoke with management of the Mission who stated that Mark Edward Aldridge was asked to leave the property but was refusing.  Officers contacted Aldridge and made him aware of the complaint and he was instructed to leave the property or he would be arrested.  Aldridge after being warned continued to cause problems and did not leave as instructed.  He was arrested and charged with failure to obey a lawful order.  Aldridge was issued a criminal citation and released pending trial.
