CPD Makes Theft Arrest & Serves Criminal Summons

On Thursday, September 7, 2017 at approximately 12:30 PM, the Cumberland Police Department responded to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center in reference to a theft complaint.  Upon the officer’s arrival, he met with the victim who reported that his bicycle had been stolen.  The officer reviewed surveillance video and was able to observe a suspect stealing the bicycle.  A short time later, security observed the suspect return to the area with the bicycle.  Police located the suspect and identified him as Aaron Soules.  After investigation, Soules was arrested and transported to the police station.  Soules was later released on a criminal citation pending trial at District Court.

 

ARRESTED:  Aaron Matthew Soules   AGE:  28      Cumberland, MD

CHARGE:  Theft less than $100

 

 

CRIMINAL SUMMONS SERVED

 

On Thursday, September 7, 2017, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on James Porter.  Charges were filed against Porter by a private citizen at the District Court of Allegany County.  The citizen alleged that Porter had been harassing her over the phone.  Porter was released pending trial after being served.

CHARGE:  Harassment; A Course of Conduct
