Crews Respond to Fire in Lonaconing

No injuries were reported after a fire broke out at 3 West Main Street Wednesday evening. The American Red Cross was called for one displaced adult, according to Allegany County Department of Emergency Services. 

 

“Fire and EMS units were dispatched at 7:05 p.m. to Lefty’s Creekside Bar and Grille,” Todd Bowman, public information officer for Allegany County DES said. “First arriving units confirmed a working fire in the building.”

 

Units from Goodwill, Barton, Midland, Piedmont, Potomac, Georges Creek EMS, Shaft, Frostburg, Bloomington, LaVale, Mount Savage, Keyser, Tri-Towns EMS, Ridgeley, Cresaptown, Rawlings, Bittinger, Allegany County Department of Emergency Services, and Allegany County Fire Police responded to the scene or on standby at stations committed to the incident. 

 

“Route 36 was closed for a brief period during the incident. The road has since been reopened,” Bowman said. 

 

The Maryland State Fire Marshal’s Office was requested and remains on the scene.
