CROP Walk Raises Over $6K To Benefits Food Pantries & Western Maryland Food Bank

It was a rainy and chilly day in mid October for the 47th  Cumberland/Allegany County CROP Walk- but the weather did not dampen the spirits of those participates raising funds for those in need. Christians Relating to Other People is a hunger awareness walk held throughout different communities within the county to raise money for the local food pantries and the Western Maryland Food Bank.  Cumberland Coordinator Sandy Cowan tells WCBC News that approximately 65 walkers raised more than $6,000 on a 2.5-mile walk on the Great Allegheny Passage.  He said the event is held just prior to the holiday season- a time when food pantries shelves are getting empty….
