Morriss: “CSX Doesn’t See Greene Street Bridge as Concern”

Although the underpass at Greene Street is struck an estimated two to three times a years by trucks- Cumberland Mayor Ray Morriss tells WCBC News that addressing that issue is no longer on the table for discussion  with CSX.  The underpass was originally part of the negotiations- but while progress is being made with the three West Side bridges- Morriss reports that CSX no longer looks at the underpass as a significant concern…

    Why don’t they do like they did on the Kelly Rd bridge? The trucks had problems get going the Kelly Springfield. So since you can’t raise the bridge they lowered the road. That’s why you see the sidewalks over there.

    They should the same thing that was done over on Kelly Rd. back when the Kelly Tire Co. was here. The trucks couldn’t get under that bridge either. So since you can’t raise the bridge they lowered the road. That is why you see the sidewalks also.
