Because of a rescheduling earlier this month, the second monthly meeting of the Cumberland Mayor and City Council will be held this Tuesday, only a week after the first.
Council will conduct a work session at 5 PM, followed by the public meeting at 6:15.
Mayor Ray Morriss and the City Council are expected to comment Tuesday evening on a Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant of over $12,000 that will be used to purchase tasers and other conducted electrical weapons that will be used by City Police and Sheriff's Deputies as a less lethal alternative to firearms.
Because of the short time frame between meetings, the agenda is on the light side.
