At approximately 720am officers were dispatched to Bedford Street residence for an assault in progress. Officers arrived and located one of the subjects involved. The subject was bleeding and had visible signs of injury. Officers discovered that the other subject involved fled the area on foot. Officers spoke with the injured subject as well as other witnesses. It was determined that Richard Alan Nair III had assaulted the victim and also tased the victim prior to the officers’ arrival. Officers continued to check the area and were able to locate Nair hiding in a rear yard near the scene. Nair was taken into custody without incident and transported to police headquarters for processing. Nair was later taken before the District Court Commissioner where he was held without bond.
