Cumberland Man Arrested On Burglary & Other Charges

On February 23, 2020, the Cumberland Police were dispatched to Gulf Memorial Drive for a burglary and disturbance.  When officers arrived they learned that, Gary Smith, age 41 of Cumberland, Maryland, had forced his way into a building and created a disturbance.  They further learned that Smith had twice earlier been advised that he was not allowed on the property.  Smith also had created a large scene during the incident disturbing multiple residents in the area. Subsequently, Smith was placed under arrest and charged with trespassing, burglary fourth degree, intoxicated disorderly, and disturbing the peace.  Smith was later taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await his Initial Appearance.
