On Friday at approximately 1:49 AM the Cumberland Police assisted the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office with a traffic stop on Greene Street. When the traffic stop was over a passenger in the vehicle, Marquise Laniell Carpenter, yelled obscenities out of a window at police from inside the vehicle. Police advised the people in the vehicle to leave at which time Carpenter exited the vehicle. Carpenter began walking down the street and continued to yell causing a disturbance. Carpenter was placed under arrest and issued a criminal citation for Disorderly Conduct. He was released pending trial in District Court.
