Cumberland Man Charged For Archway Station Fire

Deputy State Fire Marshals obtained an arrest warrant for Andrew Eugene Robinson (22) after it was determined he had intentionally set ordinary combustibles on fire in his bedroom at the Archway Station located at 501 Fayette Street in Cumberland, Maryland. A joint investigation by the Office of the State Fire Marshal and the Cumberland Fire Marshal’s Office revealed Robinson intentionally set the fire inside heat ducting located inside his bedroom. The 2-story, four bedroom structure housed three other residents and two staff members at the time of the incident occurring on May 23, 2012 at approximately 1:00 a.m. The fire caused heat and soot damage in the area of the ducting before being quickly extinguished by staff. No injuries were reported during the incident. Damage to the bedroom is estimated at $1,000. Robinson was charged with Arson 1st Degree and 5 counts of Reckless Endangerment. He was transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
