21 year old Matthew Ivan Murphy, of Cumberland, was arrested today (2/19/20) and charged by the Allegany County Combined Criminal Investigation Unit (C3I), after surrendering himself after a warrant had been issued for his arrest.

The charges result from incidents first reported to the Allegany County Sheriff's Office. The C3I Unit was contacted and a joint investigation into the allegations was conducted.

The investigation revealed that Murphy had made contact on line with four different female victims, ranging from pre-teen to young teen in age. The victims were from both West Virginia and Maryland.

Murphy both sent to, and requested and received nude photos from the victims.

Murphy has been charged with Possession of Child Porn, Soliciting Child Porn, and Indecent Exposure. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner and has been released on $25,000.00 unsecured bond, pending his next court appearance.
