Cumberland Police Investigate Numerous Crimes

June 23rd, 2015                                                                       Domestic Assault

On 06/23/15 at 4:14pm Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to the 1500blk of E Oldtown Rd in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival Officers contacted the parties involved. Investigation revealed that an argument had taken place and Officers were able to observe an injury to the victim that did not require medical attention. As a result officers placed 75 year old William Brown under arrest. Brown was transported to the Cumberland Police Dept where he was processed and charged with disturbing the peace and one count of second degree assault. Brown was taken for an initial appearance at District Court where he was released on his personal recognizance pending his next court appearance.

 

June 23rd, 2015                                                        Breaking and Entering

On 06/23/15 Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to a residence located in the 400blk of Park St in reference to a breaking and entering. Upon arrival officers contacted the victim who advised that they were away from the residence for several days and upon returning home they observed that an unknown person(s) had entered the residence and removed several items of value. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cumberland Police Dept at 301-777-1600.

 

June 23rd, 2015                                                                     DOP

On 06/23/15 Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to the first block of Bellvue St in reference to a Destruction of Property complaint. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim who stated that sometime overnight person(s) unknown had busted the window out of the passenger side door to their vehicle. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Cumberland Police Dept at 301-777-1600.

 

June 23rd, 2015                                                                      Theft

On 06/23/15 Officers with the Cumberland Police Dept responded to the 200blk of Oak St in reference to a theft. Upon arrival Officers contacted the victim in this case who advised that sometime overnight person(s) unknown removed a cement yard ornament from their yard.
